Ernekian pledges 11 million
There were more than 18 million dollars in pledges made at the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund's banquet in Moscow.
The "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund organized a benevolent banquet at Renaissance Monarch Hotel in Moscow. Among participants were NKR President Bako Sahakyan, Armenian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Oleg Yesayan, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Russia and New Nakhichevan, Bishop Yezras Nersisyan and nearly 70 Armenian businessmen.
The businessmen pledged 18 ,635,000 dollars in pledges at the banquet. The largest donation (11,000,000 dollars) was made by Eduardo Ernekian on behalf of his representative Bekor Papazian. The donation will be geared toward the development of agriculture, education and tourism in Artsakh. The second large donator was Sergey Sarkisov, who pledged to donate 3 million dollars for the complete reconstruction of the public school in Stepanakert. Among other large donators were Samvel Karapetyan (1,000,000 dollars), Robert Hovhannisyan (500,000 dollars) and Levon Hayrapetyan (500,000 dollars).
The banquet in Moscow wrapped up the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund's fundraiser in 2011, which registered 30,921,478 dollars in pledges and donations, reports the press service of the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund.
