Activists closed in mental hospital
People participating in anti-government pickets in Moscow are closed in psychiatric hospitals - a method used by the authorities in 1937, writes Russian-based Echo of Moscow radio station.
According to the source, Nadezhda Nizovkina, an activist of the Solidarity movement, was forcibly taken to the mental hospital after Gannushkin for attending the opposition's demonstration at Red Square. Activist Vera Lavreshina (The Other Russia party) was taken to the same hospital last week.
Physicians today convened a meeting to decide the future of these ‘patients,' Gazeta.ru writes.
