Under an open sky at Mashtots Park
"We will continue our sitting strike at Mashtots Park," environmental activist Meri Khachatryan told "A1+".
She informed that even though there were not many youth at the park, there would surely be more later on at night.
"There aren't many youth now because we are all very tired, especially after the police officers' actions last night. We will definitely join our friends at the park after taking a little break," said Meri.
The environmental activists have declared a round-the-clock sitting strike until March 16 and have been spending their nights in tents at Mashtots Park for the past two days. There is not one tent there now. Deputy Police Colonel Karen Movsisyan told "A1+" that the police had moved the tent to another location, that is, they had placed it in a police car.
For the past 34 days, the environmentalists have been fighting against Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margarya's decision, according to which the trade stands that were demolished at Abovyan Street will be placed at Mashtots Park.
