World four-time champion passes away
On March 24, well-known Armenian shooter Zinaida Simonyan died at the age of 62. She was a multiple champion of the USSR (1966-85), 15-time champion of Europe (1973-83), triple absolute champion of Europe (1975, 1976, 1979) and four-time world champion (1974-81). She was also Distinguished Master of Sport of the USSR. Since 1996, she had been teaching at the state specialized shooting school at the RA Ministry of Education and Science and had been director of the sport school since 2008.
Zinaida Simonyan had been a member of the executive committee of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia since 2003.
