HCAV to present report on armed forces
The Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office (HCAV) will present on April 5 its report "Democratic, Civil and Social Control Opportunities over Armed Forces"
The report summarizes the human rights situation in the armed forces and reveals the results of a study carried out by the HCAV. The report particularly focuses on the cases of death in the army, their efficient investigation, transparency and accountability in the defense sphere and democratic, civil and social control over the military.
The report was prepared within the framework of the program "Formation of Civilian Control over the Military" and with the assistance of the Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO).
