Situation heating up at Mashots Park
The situation is heating up at Yerevan's Mashots Park where environmental activists are going to dismantle trade kiosks installed there earlier this year.
Manvel Sargsyan, a member of the demolition brigade, announced that they were determined to carry out their plans despite the police threats to arrest them.
Earlier, the police had announced that if the group passed the barriers, they would resort to tougher actions.
Police officers today prevented three activists from overstepping the barrier. They also elbowed the activists and forced them off the kiosks, tearing off the clothes of Andreas Ghukasyan.
