Armenian territory in Istanbul given back to its lawful owner
The court, examining the case initiated by the Armenian St Nikoghayos church's fund against Istanbul City Hall, ruled in favor of the Armenian party, Armenpress reports citing Turkish Sahib.
According to the court's decision, the 37500 sq. m. territory, including the Armenian cemetery, was given to the Armenian St Nikoghayos church's fund. The fund's chairman Varuzhan Maghatelyan noted that the church had been waiting for this decision for a long time.
"The Istanbul City Hall will protest against the court's ruling but we think that the final decision will also be in our favor", Maghatelyan said.
