A group of demonstrators in Armenia's Vanadzor city today attacked the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office, throwing eggs and stones and breaking the office windows.

Later, they intruded into the premises, elbowed the employees and swore at the staff, using obscene language. One of the employees was injured as a result of the unexpected ‘break-in.' in the meantime, police officers stood at a distance following the demonstrators' actions.
Shouting, "You are traitors and Turks," local residents called on the office administration to cancel the organization of an Azerbaijani film festival in Armenia, which is initiated by the Caucasus Center of Peace Making Initiatives.

The protesters did not calm down even after Arthur Sakunts [head of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office] announced that it was Georgy Vanyan [chairman of the Caucasus Center of Peace-Making Initiatives] who decided to postpone the film festival.

The group demanded that the screening be cancelled as soon as possible.
