Horbategh villagers set condition for HHK
The residents of Horbategh village of Vayots Dzor province participated in the May 6 parliamentary elections under the condition that the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) removes the technical equipment for the construction of a small hydro station out of the village.
The Republicans won in Horbategh and removed the technical equipment, but the residents continue to fight against the construction of a small hydro-electric station in their village so that they don't lose water supply.
The residents have appealed to Serzh Sargsyan with three letters. They say if Sargsyan's doesn't stop construction, 298 residents will emigrate from the village.
In their letter, the villagers mention that the exploitation of the first hydro-electric station caused 30 percent of damages in food production, 40 percent of damages in milk production, and the construction of the second one will put their existence at risk.
