Man threatening to blow up Harsnakar Restaurant arrested
Lieutenant Colonel Vardan Samvelyan, a senior official at the Defense Ministry's capital regiment, who threatened on Sunday to blow up the Harsnakar Restaurant belonging to Republican Party MP Ruben Hayrapetyan, has been arrested, Mary Sargsyan, a senior officer of the RA Defense Ministry told A1+.
A criminal case has been instituted under Article 235 (Part 1) of the Armenian Criminal Code (illegal procurement and keeping of fire-arm and ammunition).
"Samvelyan has already been interrogated and taken to prison," said the Ministry official.
Major Vahe Avetyan, head of ENT Department of the Yerevan Garrison Hospital, died in a Yerevan hospital on June 29 after being severely beaten at the Harsnakar Restaurant on June 17. Avetyan, 35, died without regaining consciousness 12 days after the incident.
A vigil was held outside the restaurant on June 30 in memory of Vahe Avetyan.
