Margar Ohanyan, ex-chief of Armenia's Road Police, is not going to dispute the decision of a Yerevan court sentencing him to six years in prison, Ohanyan's legal representative Mkrtich Vasakyan, told A1+.

"Once he does not appeal the verdict, it means he endorses it," he said.

Margar Ohanyan, who was sentenced to six years' imprisonment in May for the damage inflicted to the country, could appeal the decision within a month.

Ohanyan was charged with misappropriation of state property, causing the state a damage of 160 million drams. However, he has fully repaid the money.

Three other defendants in this case, Road Police representatives Ara Levonyan, Samvel Makhmuryan, and ex-commander Stepan Karakhanyan, were put on probation for a period of four years.

Margar Ohanyan has been in custody since August 30, 2011.
