Drivers go on strike
About 100 drivers from the cities of Abovyan and Charentsavan have gone on strike since early morning. They complain that the buses of the Prosperous Armenia Charitable foundation that serve the same routes hinder their work as people prefer taking the free buses. The angered drivers have gathered outside the municipality building in Charentsavan, demanding that Mayor Hakob Shahgaldyan personally handle the issue. However, the latter says the matter is beyond his competence.
The drivers of N259, 1, 2 and 275 buses are even ready to close Sevan-Yerevan highway and disrupt the traffic. The bus station is located outside the municipality.
All four routes belong to King Deluxe Company and the owner is Arthur Harutyunyan.
