Representatives of the "Sinjar" Yezidi National Unity recently addressed a letter to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, requesting the latter to rename a street in the Armenian capital in honour of Jahangir Agha, a national hero of the Yezidis.

President of Sinjar Boris Tamoyan says their request is belated though he hopes that Taron Margaryan will take the right decision.

"In 1918, Jahangir Agha participated in the battles of Bash-Aparan and Sardarapat with his battalion when the Turkish army invaded Armenia. Jahangir was the first to fight against Turks without receiving an order," Boris Tamoyan said while introducing the national hero.
