To support the Tierras de Armenia Company established in Armenia by Argentinean-Armenian entrepreneur Eduardo Ernekian, the Armenian government has included the Aligote, Shenin, Kolombard-B, Fol Blanche B and Ugni Blanc B sorts of grapes in the list of sorts of grapes allowed for producing Armenian brandy.

Tierras de Armenia CJSC was founded in November 2004 and has acquired nearly 2,300 ha of farming lands. In the next 15 years, the program envisages turning 80% of the mentioned land into lands for farming. There have already been 300 ha of vineyards planted within the framework of the program. If the new resolution is adopted, the company will be provided with the opportunity to sell grape crops and implement its investment project in its entirety.
