The Petrosyan family lives in a run-down shack in Armenia's second largest city of Gyumri. Three families formed after the 1988 devastating earthquake are living in the dilapidated building today. By law, homeless families are given as many rooms as they lost during the disaster, if of course, the number of the family members has not decreased during those years.

The three families of ten were given a four-room apartment this year. However, Rima Petrosyan has decided to stay with her four fatherless minor children in the shack but they no longer have the status of homeless persons, the local NGO Shirak Center reports.
