SCR Urges Citizens to Follow Safety Rules on the Railway
On October 22, 2012 on 165 km of rail track Vardenis-Shorzha freight cars collided with cattle. The collision caused four cars of a freight train derail.
In connection with the recent incident on the track Vardenis-Shorzha, CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" once again reminds citizens to follow safety standards and do not use the way for grazing and transhumance.
SCR encourages citizens to be more attentive at the railway stations, while transition the tracks. The company requires to strictly follow safety standards and calls on citizens not to cross the railroad tracks not on the proper location.
For its part, SCR takes all necessary measure to ensure traffic safety: holds a program of repair of railway crossings, regularly carried out to identify shortcomings on crossings, conducts technical studies for the duties and spreads fliers among drivers about road safety.
Rail transport like automobile can not stop at once: in an emergency stopping passenger trains pass a distance of at least 800 meters. Be careful and remember that by your wrong actions you endanger not only yourselves, but also the lives and health of passengers!
