Lives of soldiers injured in truck crash not periled

The lives of the servicemen injured in yesterday's military truck accident near Karvachar are not periled. They were transported to the Central Clinical Military Hospital in Yerevan in three stages, doctor of the military hospital Arman Hakobyan told reporters on Friday.

"They all received injuries and have traumatic brain injuries. One of them, Artur Yeghiazaryan, is still in grave condition; he has a thoracic fracture and has undergone surgery," said the doctor.

"Five of the injured soldiers are currently in the resuscitation department," he added.

At around 8 p.m. November 1, Ural-375/236 turned over and fell into a gorge in Karvachar, killing four and injuring 15 contract servicemen. The injured servicemen were rushed to Vardenis military hospital.

According to preliminary reports, the accident was caused after the driver tried to bypass the dilapidated section of the road in the territory called Haruri gorge.
