Purveyors owe AMD 1 billion to peasants
All companies that have procured goods from peasants must pay the debts till December 1, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan told reporters on Friday.
"Payments should be made within 7-10 working days. The debt totals AMD 1 billion. Businessmen have pledged to pay the debt," he said.
Robert Makaryan also presented the results of 2012.
"This year, farmers and processing companies have purveyed about 215 000 tons of vegetables against the 154 000 tons of the previous year. 157 000 tons of grape have been stored this year which is 28 000 tons more that of the previous year. Also, Armenia has exported 28.5 thousand tons of fresh vegetables and fruits while in 2011 the export amounted to 16.8 thousand tons," he said.
