Christ has risen, Christ's resurrection is blessed
Today Armenia celebrates Holy Saturday in Armenia sometimes known as Easter Eve or Black Saturday. It is the day before Easter and the last day of Holy Week in which Christians prepare for Easter. It commemorates the day that Jesus Christ's body laid in the tomb, destroyed the hell and liberated righteous souls.
According to the church, after the evening liturgy a new day begins.
In the evening, S. Liturgy is served with candles at the end of which the wonderful Resurrection of the Savior is declared: "Christ has risen, Christ's resurrection is blessed". With this good annunciation the fasting ends.
Tomorrow is St. Resurrection Day. The festival of wonderful Resurrection of Jesus Christ os also called Easter. A holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testament.
In Armenian Easter is called Zatik -proceeding from the Armenian word- zatel, which refers to the segregation and separation from sins and the return to God.
