Public Council discusses fate of the 'round' building of Zvartnots
Grigor Azizyan, Chairman of the Public Council's urban planning sub-committee, participated in a discussion on the maintenance of Zvartnots airport held at the General Department of Civil Aviation adjunct to the RA Government. Mr Azizyan said during the meeting they attendees discussed the possibility of maintaining the old building of the airport. Public Council will continue to monitor the process and is ready to discuss with the concessionaire all issues related to the preservation of the complex, reports the Press Service of the Public Council. Let us remind that the government’s decision to demolish the old building of the international airports has stirred up uproar in Armenia. The Armenian Public Council, an advisory body formed by the president of Armenia, appealed to the government with the requirement to reject the decision on demolishing the building, while the Mayor’s Office-affiliated urban planning council unanimously rejected the application for the demolition of the building.
