Tachat Sargsyan: We have always been and will remain with the Russian people (video)
The Communist Party of Armenia (HKK) welcomes the authorities' decision to join the Customs Union. The HKK's first secretary, Tachat Sargsyan, says the earlier Armenian joins the Union, the better for the country. “We have always been and will remain with the Russian people. Our history and geography show it,” Mr Sargsyan told reporters on September 10. Tachat Sargsyan hopes that the day will come when the Communists will come to power again. The HKK representative is concerned over the socio-economic situation in Armenia and the ongoing emigration. Even those who can ‘keep themselves going’ in Armenia are leaving the country. “The authorities force people to take the migration route. To stop the emigration they should open new workplaces,” he said. The party is holding a congress in November, with the main focus on the current socio-economic situation.
