I hope that Armenian will not ratify the agreement on joining the Eurasian Economic Union, as the Union has nothing to give to Armenia, a former chairman of the Armenian Central Bank said on October 6. Talking to reporters in Yerevan, Bagrat Asatryan expressed his support for the protesting small traders and said the ongoing protest might yield results.  "Samvel Aleksanyan and other businessmen do not pay taxes, but I am sure that they pay part of their profits to the state budget and their parties,” he said. The economist says the economic growth will be less than 3 percent in 2015. “We not have any hope that the situation can better in the country. Let us tighten our belts because things will worse,” he said. Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia (HDK), Aram Sargsyan, says Armenia will likely sign the treaty on joining the European Economic Union but he does not pin great hopes on the membership.
