Republican lawmaker Artashes Geghamyan today told his colleagues about the activities of the Armenian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA). Speaking at the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, the head of the Armenian delegation to the OSCE PA, said he had made sharp questions at the structure and made a deep impression on Europeans. Mr Geghamyan stressed that Europeans no longer have a negative attitude towards Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Customs Union. Samvel Farmanyan, another lawmaker of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), inquired about Azerbaijan’s aggressive steps. He stressed that Armenia should review its strategy in international structures and instead of responding to Azerbaijani aggression, be the first to put forward its arguments. Artashes Geghamyan is convinced that Azerbaijan will never join the EEU and Armenia cannot face additional problems in this regard. “Both Russia and Azerbaijan have got into a tangle because of trade. We should do everything we can to make sure that Russia and Azerbaijan have the same interests as Turkey,” he said. Surprised by the Republican MP’s optimism, the lawmakers asked him not to make predictions. At the end of the sitting, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakayan said the next sitting would be held in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
