Man beaten up by Armenian Governor’s son loses vision in right eye

Harutyun Zakaryan, a resident of Armenia's southeastern town of Goris in Syunik province, who lost vision in the right eye as a result of a May 2 beating outside Goris, also suffered injuries to his left eye, Epress.am reports. The source has talked to Zakaryan who is currently undergoing treatment in one of Moscow's eye hospitals. Doctors failed to restore the vision in Zakaryan's right eye, despite the five-hour operation carried out on May 21. Zakaryan said top Russian medical experts fought to restore his eyesight, but to no avail, given the severity of his injuries. Currently, he is getting ready for another surgery. Tigran Khachatryan, the notorious son of Syunik Marz Governor Surik Khachatryan, was involved in an ncident outside Goris on May 2, 2015. Tigran Khachatryan was reportedly among several dozen men who beat up and seriously injured brothers Harutyun and Mushegh Zakaryan on that day. Harut lost vision in one eye while his elder brother Mushegh suffered a broken nose. The brothers claimed that the attackers were led by the 22-year-old Tigran Khachatryan.
