Nothing informed about discussion on electricity price with Russians (video)
Today the Chamber of Commerce Representation of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia has been opened in “Imperium Plaza” hotel complex in Yerevan, which has also been attended by Minister of Transport of the RF Maksim Sokolov. The latter didn’t answer the questions of the journalists relating to the construction of Armenia-Iran railway. He only touched upon the electricity price increase. Asked by the journalists whether they discussed the issue of electricity price at the meeting with Armenia’s Prime Minister, Mr. Sokolov noted, “We discussed the whole agenda with our intergovernmental commission.” According to the official report, the discussion on the process and development of Armenian-Russian cooperation in the sector of energy has been held today at the government. From the Armenian side the RA Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Iosif Isayan and from the Russian side the RF Minister of Transport, Co-Chair of the Armenia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Maksim Sokolov and other officials attended the meeting. The ongoing joint projects in the energy sector and the perspectives for deepening cooperation have been discussed. The situation over the “Electric Networks of Armenia” Closed Joint-Stock Company has also been touched upon. Armenia’s former Vice Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan also didn’t comment on the topic of electricity price hike. Asked by A1+’s correspondent whether the decision on electricity price will be revoked or not and ‘what developments do you expect in this regard’, Armen Gevorgyan just said the following: “I don’t know. I don’t give interviews on the run.”
