Armenian dancer performs with celebrities
“It’s my second visit to Armenia. First time I came to Armenia when I was 4. I like Armenia very much, my family lives here and it is my homeland,” says famous and professional Armenian dancer Gevorg Manukyan, who lives in America. The latter came to Armenia in order to participate in “Kings of Ice” show, which must have been held on November 20, but was postponed. Gevorg Manukyan has worked with such celebrities like Pink, Whitney Houston, Nelly Furtado etc. “It is not difficult for me to work with them, they all are very friendly and simple people. I haven’t had problems with anyone, on the contrary, they encourage and support you. I dreamt of dancing with Michael Jackson, alas, I didn’t manage,” said Gevorg in reply to the question by “A1+” journalist whether it has been difficult for him to work with such celebrities and who he would like to work with besides the abovementioned celebrities. Gevorg Manukyan has appeared in movies, commercials and shows. “My dancing career started at the age of 17, when for the first time I participated in ‘So you think, you can dance’ American program. I have been engaged also in figure skating for already 5 years. My parents are figure skaters,” said Gevorg and added, “It is a bit more responsible to perform before my nation. I wanted very much to do something to delight everybody, but we saw what happened, but I am looking forward to March 5 in order to do what I didn’t manage to do yesterday.” “Kings of Ice” show was due to be held on November 20 at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex, but was postponed because of terror attacks in Paris on November 13, as citizens of France were included in the program, who couldn’t perform during these hard days for France. According to the organizers, the concert will be held on March 5, 2016.
