A fire that broke out overnight in Yerevan’s Sari Tagh district killed three people, burnt two houses and damaged the roofs of another two houses. :The fire started at one o’clock. We did not understand what we were doing and how it happened. I can only remember that the entire world gathered here in seconds,” says Roza Martirosyan, one of the residents of the district. Everyone is stunned to know how ironically and cruelly fate treated the Mamajyan family who immigrated to Yerevan from Chadakhlu village. In a matter of seconds, the flames of fire killed three members of the family – the father (87), mother (84) and daughter (60). The neighbors say the family did not have any contact with them; they had mental problems. “They would not open the door before a district police officer. We have written numerous letters to relevant bodies asking them for help but they said ‘we cannot come and take them unless something happens to them.” said Sos Mnatsakanyan, another resident of the district.
