Will school holidays be extended for another week?
It is not excluded that winter school holidays in Armenia may be extended by another week because of a swine flu outbreak which has already killed ten people in the country, including a young woman and a baby. Talking to A1+, Tatevik Grigoryan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, said they do not have such a decision yet but a corresponding decision will be made in the next two days. If they see necessity for further extending the school vacation period, they will turn to the Ministry of Education and Science. Education Minister Armen Ashotyan announced last week that school holidays in Armenia have been extended until January 18 amid growing concerns over the raging H1N1 virus.
