Swine flu claims two more lives in Armenia
Amid the activation of acute respiratory infections, specialists of Armenian hospitals attend to patients who are in a critical condition Armenia’s Ministry of Health said on Monday that numerous consultations were held in the past days with the leading specialists and physicians of the country. “Unfortunately, we cannot always achieve the desired results. Two men died of the disease on Sunday though doctors struggled for the days to save their lives. In both cases, the patients were hospitalized a week after the first symptoms of the disease [on January 9] and were already in a severe condition. They were both diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and were immediately connected to an artificial breathing apparatus. One of the patients had cardiovascular collapse. Seven more patients remain connected to artificial breathing apparatuses. Doctors are continuing to fight for their lives,” the Ministry said.
