Stray animals 'left scratches' on official's (video)
On Friday, animal lovers held another protest in Yerevan calling for an end to animal slaughter. Gohar Manushakyan, a representative of Dingo Team NGO, says Unigraph-X, which had been sterilizing or eliminating stray dogs since 2006, is taking away people's money. “The authors of the slaughter are the police, the municipality and Unigraph X,” she said. “The protest aims to inform foreign countries about the situation of animals in Armenia. Let them know that Armenia does not know law that prohibits cruel treatment of animals. Unigraph-X hides cases of slaughter committed at night,” Gohar Manushakyan added. The protesters claim that they continue to hear shots in the evening hours. None of the Municipality officials came out to talk to the group. The animal lovers are now heading to the Government building. 16:30 Alexander Ghazaryan, Head of the Government Department that deals with the acceptance and discussion of citizen requests, who always came out to discuss the demands of animal lovers, today expressed his anger. If a dog attacks my son, I shall not warn Unigraph X any longer, I shall kill that do myself,” he said. Then, turning to the group, he said, “Come and see what those stray dogs have done to my car.” he showed them the marks on his car. He showed them the scratches on the car.
