Shall we join Earth Hour or not?
Today the world celebrates Earth Hour. It means that about an hour, from 20:30 to 21:30, lights in all the cities, which have joined the action, will be turned off. The aim of the initiative is uniting the people for the sake of preservation of living conditions and resources on Earth. To note, Armenia is among 170 countries, which have joined Earth Hour. For already 8 years street lights are turned off on this day. The citizens also join the initiative. Though, Arthur Gevorgyan, Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality, didn’t know whether this year the lights would be turned off or not. Nevertheless, a group of citizens today in the evening from Mashtots Park will tour in Yerevan central streets by bicycles and with bicycle lights by celebrating Earth Hour in that way.
