New human rights NGO called “”Rights Side”” has been established in Armenia which deals with the issues of LGBT people in Armenia, specifically those of transgender people. Transgender people are engaged in prostitution, because no one recruits them, they are isolated from society,” says Lilit Martirosyan, President of the NGO. There are also problems related to their mental health and well-being: they face isolation, unfair treatment by their families, state bodies and society. The main objective of the organization is to protect the rights of transgender people on national and international levels.
