France didn't take lightly its 1-0 loss to Portugal as unrest breaks out on the streets of Paris after the Euro 2016 final. At the final whistle after 120 gruelling minutes, French players sunk to their knees as many were left in tears as the hosts suffered a devastating defeat to leave a nation heartbroken. In contrast, Portugal celebrated wildly with Ronaldo leading the party even though it was supersub Eder who scored the extra time winner. Ronaldo was in tears when he left the pitch with his damaged knee in the first half. France had numerous chances but could not find the goal that would have sent their home fans into raptures. As it was, the nation was left to reflect on a bitter end to the tournament as Portugal won the European Championships for the first time. Police shot tear gas at unruly crowds along the Champs Elysees in Paris after France lost the Euro 2016 final. Police also broke up crowds along the Arc de Triomphe. Meanwhile, Portugal fans in Lisbon and Paris celebrated the win – after substitute Eder’s goal that won the game in overtime.
