Exhibition in support of Talish residents: come with full pockets (video)
Member of Artists’ Union of Armenia Mher Stepanyan celebrates the half century of his life with a personal exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence.
“I have decided to organize a mixed exhibition. There is human comedy, Sasna Dzrer, many optimistic and pessimistic landscapes. There are different topics, paintings from different years, and the exhibition became retrospective,” he told the journalists.
About 60 paintings are presented at the exhibition, and the painter decided that the whole income from the sale will be provided to the village of Talish, which emptied after April War.
“Leaving this village under the control of Azerbaijanis is a crime. Talish is a gate, if that door opens, they will reach up to here. That issue must be solved immediately. If the village is inhabited, it is clear, we will keep that territory, if it isn’t inhabited, we are handing over that land ourselves,” said Stepanyan, refraining from telling the price of the paintings, and instead urging the people to come with full pockets, “Let’s the people, who are ready to pay more than USD 3000, come as we cannot help with USD 500 or 1000 in order to repair roofs or build a wall.”
Mher Stepanyan’s exhibition at Artists’ Union will last until September 10, but the paintings will be sold also after the end of the exhibition.
