New theatrical season starts on Sept. 15
The opening ceremony of the 83rd season of the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan will be held on Sept. 15. A number of events are planned for the audience in the lobby. According to tradition, the first opera to be presented to visitors will be A. Tigranyan's “Anush.” The leading roles will be performed by Anahit Mkhitaryan / Honoured Artist of Armenia/, Perch Karazyan / Honoured Artist of Armenia / and Gevorg Hakobyan / Honoured artist of Armenia/. Puccini's “Tosca” opera and Khachatryan’s "Masquerade” ballet will be premiered in the current season by the end of the year. In addition, tours will be organized for schoolchildren around the building of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet in the new theatrical season.
