Emptying schools in Armenia: why parents don’t take their children to school (video)

During the recent 6 years 13 state schools have stopped their operation in the republic. According to the recent statistics, 70 percent of the schools in the republic, more than 900 schools, have up to 300 pupils, and 427 schools- up to 100 pupils. How the education should be organized at schools, which have 10 pupils, or where there are joint classrooms. It means that pupils of different age groups can study in the same class. Presenting the situation, Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan has recently told that the state still doesn’t have a solution to the issue. What are the solutions presented by the specialists, for what reasons do the children miss the mandatory education? Another release of “Kiraki” (Sunday) program touches upon the issue of emptying schools in Armenia.
