Love stories in Japanese films: Japanese film festival to be held in Armenia (video)
The 11th edition of Japanese film festival will be held in Yerevan, Vanadzor and Etchmiadzin cities from 13 to 17 October. The theme of the festival is love and youth. Talking to journalists on Tuesday, Karine Piliposyan, Chair of the Armenian Japanese Cultural Hikari Centre, said eight Japanese films will be shown during the event. “These are new films about love.” Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Eiji Taguchi added in turn that the festival was held in Gyumri last year. This year, they have decided to include Vanadzor in the list. “I am glad that we again have the opportunity to hold a festival of Japanese films in Armenia. I want to say two things. Love and youth have been chosen as the theme of this year's festival. I would like everyone to watch the films and I particularly call on the young people to go and watch them. This year, the festival will be held in Vanadzor for the first time. We work in the regions as well and hope to hold a festival in southern regions next year.” The films will be shown at the Moscow Cinema (Yerevan), Culture House named after Charles Aznavour (Vanadzor) and Municipality (Gyumri).
