Schoolchildren of number 1 school in frontier Koghb village are going to provide the profit from the sales of their products to charity. Within the frames of "Entrepreneurship and Civic Education" project implemented by "Junior Achievements of Armenia" organization the pupils have studies the market, have learnt to write a business plan, develop the stages of production for about a month. Today they are presenting their handicrafts in Yerevan: “By our handicrafts we want to restore our Armenian symbols, as today most of the items are made of leather and not taraz,” Nona Jilavyan, student of the 11th grade of Tavush marz’s Koghb village number 1 school, told “A1+”. Schoolchildren from 40 schools of Yerevan and regions take part in the exhibition-fair, but according to the words of Nona, they aren’t rivals with other schools, “There is no rivalry between us, it is true, there should be rivalry in order to reach something, but we work without rivalry in a peaceful and joined atmosphere,” said Nona. Unlike their fellow villagers, the pupils of Koghb’s number 2 school are very determined. After the launch of the fair they have been the first to sell one of their handicrafts: “There is rivalry; I think there is rivalry between all the groups, as we have different brands, there are also brands, which are similar, that’s why there is rivalry, but if there is a need for compromise, we are ready for concessions,” said Liana Abovyan, student of the 12th grade of Koghb’s number 2 school. The pupils will provide the profit from the sales for improving the school area. “If money is left, we will also reconstruct the territory in the school’s neighborhood, as our school is situated on interstate road and reconstructions can be carried out also there, if, of course, the money is enough,” say the pupils. Anahit Manukyan, project coordinator at “Junior Achievements of Armenia” organization, says that it is an educational project, as the pupils learn the way of thinking and skills of modern businessman. “Besides profit, the contemporary businessman should also think of solving some public issue; students should provide a part of their income to the solution to any public issue in their communities,” Anahit Maukyan told “A1+”. For already 10 years the Student Business Companies from 150 schools of Yerevan and regions have been taking part in the project, but only 40 out of them received an opportunity to present their production in Yerevan. The schools, which haven’t presented their production at the fair, will do it during the events organized in their communities. koghb1
