The Armenian side did not sustain any casualties as a result of provocations initiated by the Azerbaijani side on Thursday evening and in the morning of Friday, says the NKR President’s Spokesman. “The situation on the border remains the same as it has always been, nothing extraordinary is happening. The enemy has never stopped shooting [at our positions], they simply increase or decrease the amount of shots. This is a normal thing for the boys who are defending our border, this is our daily roiutine,” Davit Babayan said to A1+. He added that the situation is now under control. “They [Azerbaijanis] used more powerful weapons to fire at our positions. Our guys are very strong. Now it is very important that we have a solid back. With its actions the enemy wants to cause panic and weaken our back,” the Mr. Babayan added. Asked whether today’s shelling has anything to do with the planned military exercises by Azerbaijan, the NKR official said, “They shot at us before, during and after military exercises.” Azerbaijan started shelling Armenian posts starting 12:15 p.m. Friday, using 60- and 82-mm mortars in the northeastern (Talish and Yarimja) section of the frontline. The advance units of the NKR Defense Army took retaliatory measures to suppress the rival's attacks.
