Hasmik Papyan: We owe a little to Gyumri (video)
Gyumri is an excellent, well-established cultural city in terms of classical and folk music as well as painting. Gyumri is a city of arts, one of our spiritual centres and we should not forget about it, composer Tigran Mansuryan said on November 15. The composer made the first steps in his career in this city and has always felt connected with Gyumri. That is why, the soiree concert due in Gyumri on November 18 has special significance for the composer. Market relations dictate their values and laws, but the composer says 'we are to do everything possible to prevent market rules from mingling with art, otherwise we shall have to surrender everything:' the principle of the market is to offer everything much cheaper to be able to sell more. “This is an unprecedented concert for me,” says singer Hasnik Papyan, a special guest at the concert. “I am not indifferent to the fate of the city. Moreover, I must say that we all owe a little to Gyumri. " Mansuryan’s works will be performed during the concert in Yerevan.
