“Life is in full swing in Nagorno Karabakh, and the flaws revealed during the four-day war in April are being addressed,” Garnik Isagulyan, Advisor to the Permanent Representation of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in Armenia, said on December 14. He often visits Artsakh and sees how people strengthen military positions and modernize military equipment. Every time he returns to Armenia he gets surprised to hear the talks of local officials. “Some political figures have turned the struggle against the authorities into a struggle against the state. We hear statements in the National Assembly that harm our soldiers and degrade the heroic feats of our soldiers who were killed in the April war,” Mr. Isagulyan said without giving names. Speaking about Gagik Tsraukyan’s return to politics, Garnik Isagulyan said he welcomes everybody’s return to the political arena as long as he does not fight against the state. “I have never been afraid to say that Tsarukyan was left alone after the February 12 consultation. In those days I defended him because even his closest relatives did not stand by his side, when full responsibility was needed for serious changes but Tsarukyan said he avoided bloodshed and he took a right decision.”
