Armen Ashotyan: Plato is my friend, but truth is a better friend
Vice-Chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Armen Ashotyan, today commented on [former Defense Minister] Seyran Ohanyan’s statement on the latter’s possible return to politics. “The press has been discussing the process for a long time. In any case, having respect for the path of the former minister and for warm human relations, I would like to quote a famous Latin phrase which says, "Plato is my friend, but truth is a better friend.” All citizens in Armenia have the right to be engaged in politics. I will add that former officials, including presidents, prime ministers and ministers are trying to strengthen positions in the political arena: politics attracts former officials. History shows that they cannot, as a rule, achieve great results but at least they try to take a place under the political sun,” Mr. Ashotyan said.
