This flat, which door doesn’t open, at the decision of the Government will be given to the people, who already live there. Besides number 31 flat of 48 building on Nazarbekyan, the Government has also decided to hand over the keys of number 40 flat to the people, who actually live there. On condition not be filmed the residents of number 40 flat told that they had fought for getting a right to property for 9 years. The flat, where they live, was in hopeless condition and they repaired it by their means. Nazarbekyan 48 building is famous of its unfavorable living conditions. The Governments gives certificates of property to the residents in a dilapidated building. 9-storey building doesn’t have an elevator, the roof is wholly open and rain and snow became disaster for the residents. The upper floors are in constant humidity. “I don’t wish such a property even to my enemy,” says resident Anahit Ispiryan. 60-year-old woman is one of the first residents of Nazarbekyan 48 building. She lived in a flat on the second floor since 2003. In 10 years that flat wasn’t privatized, she was forced to leave the flat and after being homeless for a month, Mrs Anahit’s family was given a flat on the 8th floor. But the absence of elementary living conditions cost the family much. “Because of this humidity the 6-year-old child has intestinal ulcer, mother took the child to the doctor. It was impossible, the children weren’t able to get out of bed; they were always sick; now I have sent them to live in a rented flat and I received my benefit and sent them to pay the rent.” No communal facilities are available. “We haven’t had water since November until today. We have to carry water from different places,” says Anahit Ispiryan. Haykuhi Smbatyan living on the 9th floor has also received a dilapidated present from the Government. The horror of winter this year passed them by, as with her underage son they live in a flat rented by a philanthropist. They have been given this flat without a roof, though, there are more renovated and empty flats in Nazarbekyan 48 building. “They can check that there are flats in that building, where nobody lives, and those people may be given normal flats. Number 3 flat is free, I ask for it, please, free me and my child from this open sky,” says Haykuhi Smbatyan. Residents of Nazarbekyan 48 hope that this time the Government will listen to their requests.
