Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), refuses to comment on press reports alleging that he will participate in the April parliamentary elections on the list of the Armenian National Congress (HAK). “I have no idea of what the press is publishing these days,” he said today. Anyway, Mr Arsenyan thinks that he is ‘popular' among political forces. “I have received proposals from all political forces,” he stressed. Gurgen Arsenyan says he will wait until February 17 and speak after the submission of final electoral lists. Meanwhile, he allows the media to write whatever they want about him. “Write that I am not standing as a candidate in the elections.” He says journalists had better find out what ordeal awaits Armenia after the April 2 vote. “Our country is facing serious ordeals, but do not hurry, I shall tell you about them on February 17,” he said. Currently, the lawmaker is trying to understand whether life has bettered in Armenia after the country’s external debt increased by 817 million dollars. He has done everything for his country. Today he sees new saviours in the horizon. “Your saviour has come [to Armenia], he has come from Gazprom [company],” he said.
