Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed ceasefire agreement 23 years ago (video)
Twenty-three years have passed since the Ceasefire Agreement on the Karabakh conflict entered into force. On May 5, 1994, representatives of Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan signed in Bishkek the so-called Bishkek Protocol which called on the conflicting parries to ensure the full ceasefire and cessation of hostilities on the night of May 9. On May 9, Vladimir Kazimirov, the representative of the Russian President in Nagorno-Karabakh, prepared the ceasefire document which was signed on the same day by Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Mamedrafi Mamedov, Minister of Defense of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on May 10 and Nagorno-Karabakh Army Commander Samvel Babayan on May 11. The agreement took effect on May 12, 1994.
