“Jazz for Peace”: Music as a Bridge for Dialogue and Understanding

The anniversary concert of legendary jazz musician Gary Kesayan, titled

“60 Years on Stage,” will take place on April 25 at the Aram Khachaturian Grand Concert Hall in Yerevan.

This special evening will bring together internationally acclaimed jazz artists. Sharing the stage with Gary Kesayan will be jazz vocalist Helen Stepter, trumpeter and vocalist Johnny Britt, saxophonist Louis Van Taylor, double bassist Carl Vincent, and drummer Don Littleton.

The concert program will feature a vibrant mix of jazz styles and eras, combining world-renowned jazz and blues classics with original compositions by Gary Kesayan — a distinguished pianist, composer, and one of the key figures in Armenia’s jazz scene.

The event is part of the “Jazz for Peace” initiative, a project aimed at promoting peace, cultural dialogue, and mutual understanding through the universal language of music.

“For more than two decades, our companies have consistently supported the development of jazz culture in Armenia, contributing to the engagement of internationally recognized musicians. The ‘Jazz for Peace’ initiative brings together not only artists, but also representatives of various sectors around shared values,” said Roman Khudoliy, General Director of Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine CJSC.

The initiative involves company leadership and employees, partners, as well as representatives of government institutions and the diplomatic corps.

The concert is supported by Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine CJSC, Agarak Copper Molybdenum Combine CJSC, and GPM Gold LLC.
