Residents of Armavir marz close road in protest
The situation is very tense in Armavir marz where residents of several villages have closed the Etchmiadzin-Armavir section of the main road leading to Yerevan, demanding compensation for the damage caused by yesterday’s flooding rain and hail, photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports. “The hail thwarted all our hopes but none of the officials stretched out a helping hand to us. We have contacted the local administration, hotline and Ministry of Agriculture but none of them has responded so far. Why should we feel neglected to such an extent? We are all under the burden of loans,” one of the farmers told the photojournalist. More details can be found here
