Why was Gevorg Safaryan moved to punishment cell?
Lieutenant colonel Armen Ghazaryan accompanying Gevorg Safaryan, member of the Founding Parliament, promised to write a report against Gevorg Safaryan after each court hearing. Gevorg Safaryan’s lawyer Tigran Hayrapetyan told “A1+”. On June 30 Gevorg Safaryan was moved to the punishment cell for 10 days, as according to his lawyer, he raised a question why the members of “Sasna Dzrer” group were beaten. The policemen informed about it to their chief Armen Ghazaryan. He wrote a report that Gevorg Safaryan swore at the authorities. According to the words of Tigran Hayrapetyan, Gevorg Safaryan is surprised at the fact that the regime chief of the prison listened in detail to what had happened in reality, but then wrote that Gevorg Safaryan didn’t give any explanation. Today the member of the “Founding Parliament”, who has been in the punishment cell for the 7th day, is in high spirits. To remind, Gevorg Safaryan was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for using violence against the government representative. He is also charged with abetting mass disorders in April of 2015.
