In Aleppo at Central House of Actors for the first time after war a play “Romeo and Juliet” was performed. This play opened the new theatrical season in Aleppo. “We again open the doors of our theatre with the conviction that peace has returned to our country,” said head of the regional culture department. The audience also took part in the performance. When from time to time the electricity went off, they lit the hall with their phones and lighters. In new version of Shakespeare’s drama two opposing families, Capulet and Montague, were represented as the Syrian government and the opposition. But the love of their children defeated the disagreements.
