Sergey Smbatyan to head the Maltese Philharmonic Orchestra in Valletta
Artistic Director and Conductor of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia Sergey Smbatyan will head the Maltese Philharmonic Orchestra on December 15. The concert will take place at the St. Gevorg Square, in Malta's capital Valletta. The first part of the concert will feature two compositions by romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn, the Symphonic Prelude "Summer Night Dream", and his famous Violin Concerto. In the second part of the concert, one of the world's most famous ballets of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, "The Nutcracker," will be played. Sergey Smbatyan and the Maltese Philharmonic Orchestra have experience of cooperation. 1968 The Maltese Philharmonic Orchestra, which was founded in 1968 and will celebrates its 50th anniversary next year, is the leading music band in the country. Moreover, it has about 70 concerts in Malta, as well as touring other countries.
